How to play
- 1Press play. Songspot lines up 5 songs, Easy to Impossible: the opener is a monster hit, the closer is for the deep-cut heads.
- 2Choose a clip size, 0.1s to 15s, buttons not a dial. Songspot pays more the less you listen to.
- 3Name the track: type a title or artist and pick the match. Songspot accepts either.
- 4Missed? A wrong guess costs 500 points and nothing else, so Songspot lets you step up a size whenever you need more to go on.
Questions
What is Songspot?
Songspot is a free guess-the-song music quiz with five difficulty levels. Every run deals 5 songs ranked by how widely they have been streamed: Easy is a hit everyone alive has heard, Impossible is for collectors. Choose a clip size, listen, and name the track.
How do you play Songspot?
Press play and Songspot deals your first song. Pick one of five clip sizes, hear it, then type the title or the artist and choose the match. Guess it from a shorter clip and it pays more, so the whole game is deciding how little you can get away with.
How do the Songspot difficulty levels work?
Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert and Impossible are cut on real streaming numbers, not on vibes, so a Songspot ladder feels the same in every run. An Easy song has been played over a billion times; an Impossible one sits at the quiet end of the pool, where recognising anything at all is the flex.
What happens on a wrong guess in Songspot?
It costs 500 points and the song plays on, so an educated stab is usually worth taking. Nothing ends a Songspot song early except naming it or skipping it, and skipping banks nothing and moves the run to the next difficulty.
Is Songspot free, and do I need an account or an app?
Songspot is free and needs neither. It runs in the browser on phones and desktops, with no install, no sign-up and no cap on rounds. The audio is the short preview a streaming catalogue publishes for every track: clips stream from that third party, nothing lives on this site, and there is nothing to download.
What counts as a good Songspot score?
A Songspot run tops out at 50,000. Past 35,000 you are guessing most of the ladder from slim clips; a perfect 10,000 on Impossible (the song named from a tenth of a second) is the one worth a screenshot.
